In 1985, Gour Mahavidyalaya was founded. It is situated in the district Malda in West Bengal. GM is located on the Mahananda River's north bank. It is a private college that is also linked with Gour Banga University. The NAAC has given Gour Mahavidyalaya Malda the B+ grade. Undergraduate courses in Arts and Science (B.Sc and BA) are available at Gour Mahavidyalaya College.

On September 05, 1985 Gour Mahavidyalaya college started its journey in a small area with no facilities. Slowly, they developed their college into a large area with all facilities. The Gour Mahavidyalaya University Campus has an Internet facility also.

Hostel – Gour Mahavidyalaya is providing a hostel facility for both girls and boys.
Library – The Library is constructed in a 4080 sq. ft. area. It consists of nearly 30,000+ books. Book Bank facility is also there for poor Students. Separate reading rooms are there for students and teachers. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s publications are a special collection in this library.
NSS – They work with local NGOs to help in personality development and also to provide welfare for rural areas.
Games and Sports – Every year GM University Malda conducts games for their students. to encourage them, they also give awards and prizes to winners and runners.
Student Health Room – A student health room is also there on campus. If any student feels sick, then he/she can go to that room and take some rest. Emergency medicine and first aid kits are available for students 24/7 at any time.
